 IT’S HERE!!

But the unexpected return of her old beau, Caleb Anderson, and an attempt on her life bring only trouble. Secrets are revealed and now the two must work together to prove who tried to kill Faith. Will the truth bring the peace Faith longed for and possibly open her heart to love again?

I am so excited to share with you the cover of my novella, Apple of His Eye. This story had pushed me to get out of my comfort zone and share my writing with others. In saying that, I wanted to share a little background on how the story came to be.

I had never planned on writing this story. It all started with me wanted to enter the American Christian Fiction Writers First Impressions contest. It’s a chance for unpublished authors to have a piece of their work judged by fellow authors and editors. Luckily, it was only the first five pages and the story didn’t need to be finished. Sounded easy enough.

Bring on the brainstorming. Soon, I had the first five pages written and a bare bone outline for the rest of the story. I entered the contest and ended up winning first place in the short novel category.

Fast forward a month and I had decided to enter another contest by the same organization. This one was called the Genesis contest. Once again it was for unpublished authors and also a more intense contest. Instead, of five pages though, it needed to be 15 pages and the story had to be completed. Insert panic mode.

I had two months to finish the novella. I hunkered down, wrote whenever I could, and made it before the deadline. The 15 pages were polished the best I could make them. I ended up being a finalist in the short novel category.

The cover was created by the talented Madisyn Zeller of Mountain Peak Edits and Design. She did an amazing job at conveying what I wanted for the cover and the story itself.
